November 11, 2018

The decorations of streets and stores in the December month reminds of the gifts shopping for the holidays, getting back to the hometown to be with family and friends, all the travel planning and not to forget about shopping for the perfect outfit. Everybody is so absorbed and engaged with planning and executing stuff. This is the best season where the airlines, hotels come up with the best offers to make the trip a little budget in a friendly way.

So, if you are planning to go out for a winter vacation, let me help you with some astonishing destination to hang out with your peer and acquaintances this chilly season.

Here are Top 10 Destination to Enjoy Your Winter Vacations

VIENNA, AUSTRIA

From Cosy Christmas markets and the promise of snow to the elegance of ball season and the popular New Year Concert, here arise our top pick of things to do in Vienna during the winter months. The Austrian capital is famous for putting on a show during the festive period and is considered to have some of the best Christmas markets in all of Europe. One of the most popular and traditional takes place in front of the Belvedere Palace, which contains a circle of stalls selling traditional handicraft items, plenty of warming Austrian food and drinks, including gloriously warming mugs of gluhwein (mulled wine), as well as daily choral performances

REYKJAVIK, ICELAND

From the mighty glaciers to the rolling waves of the Atlantic Ocean to the steaming geothermal pots, Iceland is a land that, in many ways, is defined by water. Reykjavík's city pond (Reykjavíkurtjörn, or for short Tjörnin) is popular with travellers, especially bird enthusiasts. In winter, the pond sometimes freezes over, meaning people can cross, go ice skating or even make a slippery football field. Right by the city pond, there is City Hall, where you'll find the Guide to Iceland's tourist and travel information centre, as well as a large and informative 3D map of Iceland.

BERN, SWITZERLAND

Inhale the fresh mountain air at this breathtaking destination. The best bet to enjoy winter holidays in Switzerland, Jungfrau Region’s splendid scenery will surely leave you spellbound. Peaks of the lofty mountains – the Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger are coated with milky white snow and present a beautiful contrast to emerald valleys in the Alpine paradise.

QUEBEC, CANADA

During the winter months, the city's social calendar is booked solid with festivals. Summertime is the most popular time to visit due to the warmer weather, but the Québecois relish winter's icy winds, protecting themselves from the cold weather with hefty parkas and plenty of Tim Horton's coffee. The spring and fall shoulder seasons see fewer tourists because of the lack of special events, but that means travellers can take advantage of low rates as well as seasonal perks: Springtime is maple syrup season, while autumn dazzles with colourful foliage.

COLORADO, USA

Winter Park is known for its spectacular scenery, lodging value, and family-friendly town, but it also brings a new meaning to "winter wonderland" for outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes.so many activities taking and snowboarding, dog sledge and cart rides, snowmobiling, snow scoots you name it Colorado has it all.

MONTANA, USA

This quaint ski town is perfect when you really want to get away from it all. With bustling shops and a ski resort situated on Big Mountain, there’s plenty to do and see. At the right vantage point, you can enjoy some scenic views of the mountain reflected in their state lake. But the real pull is their annual winter festival, which features the lesser-known sport of joring. In it, a horse and rider pull a skier along an 800-foot-long horseshoe-shaped course while the skier pulls off jumps and swerves around slalom gates.

OSLO, NORWAY

In winter, much of Norway is usually transformed into a snow-clad paradise, and that means ideal opportunities for exciting activities in the snowy landscape. Skiing has a special place in Norwegian culture and history, and during this fresh white season, people of all ages head to the ski resorts, forests, and mountains to enjoy the slick slopes and groomed tracks. But winter nights are long and dark in all of Norway, and from the middle of November until the end of January, the sun doesn’t rise at all in parts of Northern Norway. However, the northern lights might appear over your head and light up the white landscape during this time.

JIGOKUDANI MONKEY PARK, JAPAN

Located in Joshinetsu Kogen National Park, the Jigokudani Monkey Park gets heavy snowfall for about four months each year. Despite the cold, there are plenty of hot springs to warm up in. This not a well-kept secret, especially if you’re a monkey: Snow monkeys are known to come to the valley in the winter and take a dip during the day. Besides watching monkeys kick back, visitors can also check out the steam vents, which shoot hot steam into the air.

LAKE BAIKAL, RUSSIA

Going to Russia in the winter is generally ill-advised. But some might be tempted to risk it just to enjoy the views of Lake Baikal, known as the “Sacred Sea” by the native peoples who inhabited the region. The world's deepest freshwater lake is certainly an attraction any time of year, but in the winter, the body of water becomes a 12,200-square-mile ice rink. Dog-sled and snowmobiling tours are on offer, as are ice diving and rafting in the areas where the water hasn’t frozen over.

PERITO MORENO GLACIER, ARGENTINA

This glacier is a popular tourist spot and with good reason. Located in the Los Glaciares National Park, it’s one of only three Patagonian glaciers that is currently growing. The large glacier is three miles wide and goes about 558 feet under water. At the northern end of the giant block of ice, there’s a glacier cave that tourists can explore. Some opt to take boat tours in order to get a good look at its deep blue ice.
